Brittany Henricks, LMFT

I have always been drawn to helping others work through difficult times in their lives. What began as a natural tendency developed into a vocation through my training as a pastor and a therapist.

I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to integrate my studies of theology and psychology and believe that healing is found as we strengthen the intimacy and connectedness we experience in our relationships with God, ourselves, and others.

I believe that we are created to thrive, and this happens when we have strong and secure relationships with ourselves and others.

These relationships form the safe havens from which we can launch out and share ourselves and our gifts with the world, in whatever type of work or vocation we may pursue.

  • My training as a pastor and therapist at Fuller Theological Seminary formed a passion within me to be lifelong learner of how matters of faith and theology come together with psychology in therapy room.

While my Christian faith is an integral aspect of my identity as a therapist, I welcome the opportunity to work with clients from all faith traditions. In my MDiv graduate training I completed a unit of CPE, providing spiritual and religious support to patients of many faith backgrounds in a hospital setting.

Faith-integrated therapy entails receiving psychotherapy from a clinically validated model, while also having space to explore and honor your faith and spirituality. In EFT particularly, an individual, couple or family’s view of God can be a significant emotional resource for healing and they may also experience God as an attachment figure.

Faith-integrated therapy also provides a safe space to make meaning of and heal from experiences of religious abuse and spiritual trauma.

In my work, integration of faith in therapy is always client-led, relevant to client goals and approached with curiosity and the utmost respect for each person’s unique beliefs.

  • I am married to my husband of 13 years and together we share the responsibilities of raising our three children.

I am an Army chaplain spouse and we have been an active-duty family for over ten years. It is my joy to come alongside couples walking through the particular ups and downs of marriage and family in ministry and military life.

  • I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida, and I am also an American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Clinical Fellow. I am a Certified EFCT Therapist with advanced training in EFIT and EFFT.
